Jackie R. Pérez holds a B.A. in Theatre and Dance with an emphasis in Stage Management from The University of Texas at Austin and currently serves as Production Manager at the San Pedro Playhouse and the Classic Theatre. In this role, Jackie oversees the operations of two distinct venues: The Classic Theatre, an intimate 66-seat black box theatre renowned for its immersive classics and contemporary works; and the Russell Hill Rogers Theatre, a historic 349-seat proscenium stage that hosts large-scale, community-driven productions. Jackie also manages the annual Shakespeare in the Park production at San Pedro Springs Park, welcoming over 450 patrons under the stars.

As Production Manager, Jackie leads production scheduling, budget creation, resource allocation, and vendor management; supervises technical teams across scenic, lighting, sound, costumes, and props; and collaborates closely with artistic directors, designers, the Technical Director, and administrative leadership to realize season plans and production timelines. Jackie also runs the audition and casting process, ensuring each production comes to life with the right team both on and off stage.

In addition to this managerial work, Jackie’s stage management credits include Amadeus (The Classic Theatre), The Rocky Horror Picture Show (San Pedro Playhouse), Boys in the Band (The Classic Theatre), Shakespeare in the Park: Midsummer Sueño (San Pedro Playhouse), and A Christmas Carol: An ASL Ghost Story (San Pedro Playhouse), alongside a wide range of other productions that span musicals, classics, and new works.

Jackie’s career has been dedicated to the world of non-profit theatre, where storytelling and community engagement are at the heart of every project. In both the office and the rehearsal room, Jackie’s approach is rooted in active listening, taking the time to understand colleagues’ perspectives and the circumstances that shape each production. When unexpected challenges arise, Jackie makes thoughtful decisions under pressure, always guided by respect and kindness.

Whether working with administrative staff, designers, actors, crew, or maintenance teams, Jackie strives to create a calm, level-headed, and collaborative environment where everyone feels valued. This commitment to inclusive leadership and open communication not only ensures the success of each show but also fosters a creative space where artists and technicians can do their best work.

Jackie is grateful to collaborate with so many talented artists and remains passionate about bringing artistic visions to life, one cue and one production at a time.
